A Prayer for All Fathers

Father God – Happy Father’s Day!

For you so loved the world that you gave up your only son (John 3:16), and because of Jesus, we are been made righteous. Father, you have lavished us with a great love that we should be called children of God! (1 John 3:1)

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3). Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction (2 Corinthians 1:3-4) To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen. (Philippians 4:20)

Father, today we also honor all earthly fathers, and so Jesus we lift up fathers everywhere this day – especially:

  • Fathers who are close to 100 years old — may God smile at them at the end of their lives. Psalm 146:2
  • New Fathers who has no idea what they are doing or how to change a diaper – may God give them wisdom for the days ahead.  James 1:5
  • Single Fathers raising children — that God may open doors of opportunity. Matthew 7:7-8
  • Fathers whose child or spouse has died this year – may God be their refuge and their strength. Revelation 21:4
  • Step-fathers who took up the mantle of Fatherhood out of love – may their unselfish work will be blessed by God.  Philippians 2:13
  • Fathers with broken relationships — may God restore and heal. Psalm 147:3
  • Fathers who had to move away from their family in order to support them — may God help bless in their loneliness and their hard work. Psalm 128:2
  • Fathers who train their children the way they should go — may their children not depart from those lessons. Proverbs 22:6
  • Fathers who adopted — may they be blessed for opening their home. Matthew 18:5
  • Fathers who were forgotten — may God fill their loneliness. Psalm 68:5-6
  • Fathers who built their house in the Lord – may God watch over it. Psalm 127:1
  • Fathers who suffer from depression or anxiety — may God strengthen them.  Isaiah 41:10

Thank you, Jesus, for their Strength, their wisdom, and the unselfish love. May God grant them their heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans! ( Psalm 20:4 )

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY
