I Love Burgers!

I Love Burgers!

It is one of my favorite foods in the world. However, I am very picky; I don’t like frozen burgers or pre-made burgers, and I only like to grill them.  As summer approaches, I see a lot of burgers in my the near future.

Over the years, I started experimenting with different ways to make the patty and different sauces. I want to share some of my favorite recipes.

However, first, let’s go into the basics

How to Make a Burger Patty?

Now in the video, they have a scale and some tools, I don’t have either of those. I just always get 2 lbs. of ground beef and then I either break it into 6 equal portions for 1/3 lb. burgers or 4 pieces for 1/2 lb. burgers (I wing it).

Also for all any of these patties you use 80/20 lean to fat ratio ground beef. However, you can also use 90/10 but then you want to mix in an egg. The egg helps the burger meat bond together when grilling.

How Long to Cook the Burger Patty?

Here is an image by Delish.com  that gives you a rough estimate of how long to cook burgers for.

The best way is to use a thermometer – especially since cooking times may change by the size of the patty, the temperature of the grill, and extra ingredients added to the patty meat.
