Breathe in…
Breathe out…
Repeat…
Feel better?
It’s not so easy sometimes. We rush here and there. Even when our bodies are still, our minds are not.
What if? What now? How will I manage?
If I were to get a tattoo, two words from Psalm 46:10 would be inked inside my wrist.
Be Still.
The whole verse is “He says, be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nation. I will be exalted in the earth.” That is not God being boastful, instead he is assuring us that He is enough–more than enough–he’s got this! Then, if that wasn’t enough, the psalm ends with this promise:
“The LORD Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” Psalm 46:11
Our fortress, our refuge, our comfort in time of trouble. I don’t know what you are facing today. Job stress, illness, family pressures can feel like enemies closing in, threatening to overtake us. Psalm 46 reminds us that in the midst of trouble, God is present. If only my wrist was big enough, I would put the entire psalm there as a reminder!
Be still, take a few minutes to read the whole thing (Psalm 46). Soak in those eleven verses full of God’s promises to us and breathe.
With love,
Debbie
