Never give up on asking God

 By Lucia S

Never give up on asking God to answer a prayer request. Don’t stop short of a miracle. This is our testimony of my daughter’s miracle healing.

And without faith, it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. –Hebrews 11:6

My daughter has suffered from eczema since she was a baby, but her real struggle didn’t begin until she was four years old when she started experiencing flare-ups. Her flare-up symptoms were weeping a clear fluid, cracking, bleeding and itching marked with excruciating pain behind her legs and the creases above her forearms. I spent 10 years reading naturopathic books and many articles on body healing. Through the years, we made promising steps in managing her eczema during the winter. This involved having her sleep on a low-grade polyurethane mattress, avoiding high fructose corn syrup/corn syrup/concentrated corn in foods and using hypoallergenic detergents. Yes, my journey had taken me to ridiculous measures. Our biggest challenge was her exposure to the blistering summers. She cried from pain or embarrassment when onlookers took long looks at her deteriorating skin.  I had always been suspicious of the sun’s damaging UV rays so I had always been adamant about sunblock, 50+SPF. However, this never helped in the past. Her dermatologist and allergist were amazed at the things we stumbled on as triggers. Through the years we had tried several prescription medications (oral and topical), over the counter creams, and natural approaches but to no avail. I felt helpless and flustered. She was utterly miserable every summer. She would normally get relief in fall once summer was over. There had been no progress during the summers. I prayed every year to God for a miracle. He had answered many prayer requests. Why had this prayer request taken so long?

Honor and glory to our Heavenly Father, His son Jesus and his Holy Spirit for her miracle healing!! Her eczema cleared up completely 42 days ago! It is the longest stretch and the only stretch where her skin has been completely clear in all the summers of her life!!

To re-track 42 days ago, I started a 40 day prayer/fast on Sunday, July 14, the same week our church started the 40 day prayer in the middle of the week. On Monday night, July 15, her legs and arms were still in dire state. I had had her on a diet for several days, and she had made no progress. She worsened. That night she wept and questioned why she had this skin issue and why hadn’t God already healed her. I put some shea butter on her legs and arms as I had done many nights and reassured her God was listening. My heart was broken for her. As soon as she settled down in bed, I prayed to God in earnest prayer and supplication. I cried out to him to heal my poor daughter. I told him I was done chasing and seeking. I pleaded to him to fix It. Before I dozed off that night, I believed wholeheartedly that she was healed. The very next morning, I noticed that the cracked skin behind her legs and on the creases of her arms peeled off during the night. It laid on the wood floor next to her bedside, like fish scales in a heap! The skin continued to clear and regenerate the following days through the weekend. Since the miracle, she has been outside many times without sunblock. She has stood in direct sunlight while bouncing on the trampoline, helping with yard work, hiking trails, running in the backyard, swimming in lakes on hot days and has worked up much sweat. I keep looking for signs of eczema which she would immediately suffer from when doing any of these activities. Eczema is a growing health concern. I have friends whose children suffer from eczema, some are mild and some are severe. I testify that God did do a miracle that night I prayed and surrendered. Jesus interceded for us when I cried out to Him in prayer. God’s not deaf to our prayers. It’s His time and His timing is perfect.

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:23 says,
