A covenant is a promise or an agreement.  Have there been times in your life where a promise has been broken?  How did that change that relationship?  Do you trust God to keep his promises to His people?  How is that trust developed?  It is hard to trust someone you do not know.  A good start is to get to know God better; to learn more about His character by reading His word.
